12cm of fresh snow on Monday and 8cm last night, Wednesday the 27th, has created conditions for some awesome skiing and riding in the Saddle Basin. The natural pipes and chutes are producing some great conditions, while in the Main Basin there is good skiing to be had both on and off trail. While it was the snow everyone was smiling about on Monday & Tuesday, it was clear blue skies that capped off the school holidays. A string of warm temperatures and sunny days has helped ensure that those on a break have enjoyed their time on the slopes. World Champion Ski Racers soon to arrive Treble Cone will again be hosting a number of top ski racing champions throughout August and early September. A total of 100 athletes are confirmed to train on the mountain this year and include teams from Austria, Japanese, France, Norway, Germany and Sweden. Training space has been at a premium this year in the lead up to the World Cup Series and Winter Olympics in Torino next February. Athletes will train in the race arena which includes Skite & Plunge runs until mid morning. We'll let you know more info about guided tours and what famous athletes will be arriving soon.
