STEAMBOAT DOUBLES LIFTS AND TERRAIN THIS WEEKEND

106 Trails, 11 Lifts & 1,957 Acres Or Nearly 70% Of The Mountain Open This Weekend More Than 7 Feet Of Champagne Powder® Snow Has Blanketed The Slopes Since Oct. 10th

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-December 7, 2006 - The Steamboat Ski Area will double the number of lifts open this weekend and the available terrain including its family-friendly Sunshine Bowl area, Sundown trails as well as several trails off of Thunderhead. In addition, the newly remodeled Thunderhead and Rendezvous Food Courts will open to the public on Saturday.

“Steamboat has enjoyed its traditional early season snow and cold weather this year. As a result, the mountain is in incredible shape as we move into the holiday period,” said Doug Allen, vice president- operations of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “As conditions allow and with the hard work of mountain crews, we’ll open additional terrain and lift with the goal of being 100% open for the holidays.”
