With its valley population and lively villages, the Zillertal has a lot to offer. Most outstanding however is the spectacle of nature with its majestic mountains and the Hintertux Glacier as eternal white backdrop at the end of the valley. A special gem is the Zillertal Alps High Mountain National Park.
This "area of peace" on the Zillertal Main Ridge (1,000-3,509m) extends impressively over 372 km2: the landscape is dominated by almost 80 glaciers, three large reservoirs as well as several mountain and corrie lakes, which extend over all altitudes of the inner Alps.
As well as marmots, eagles and chamois, other endangered species like steinbock and bearded vultures have also found their place in the high mountain landscape. There's a lot to see and discover in the National Park with the guided themed treks "On the Berliner Hütte Glacier Trail”, "On the Trail of Poachers” or with a torchlight trek over Pfitscher Joch.

Stowe -Vermont
It sure has been snowing in Stowe. And conditions went from great to amazing in the last week, thanks to FOUR FEET of new snow from the Valentine’s Day Blizzard! But that’s only part of the picture of how snowy it has been up here lately...
We've received over 100 INCHES of snow so far in February, with almost half of that happening in the last week. It has snowed on our mountains 30 of the last 40 days, accumulating nearly 12 FEET since MLK Weekend. Even more snow is expected at the end of the week here, and the weekend outlook is excellent. Check out our snow report for weather and updates.
Both of our mountains are powderful playgrounds from top to bottom. Come on up and play on them with us! All lifts are in operation and all of our terrain is open, including all of our designated glades. We have 3 Terrain Parks on Mount Mansfield (Tyro Large, Standard Medium and North Slope Medium) and smaller learning features on Spruce Peak for aspiring freestylers.
