STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-May 29, 2007-The Steamboat Ski Area launches into full swing June 8th with summer fun and on-mountain adventure including a variety of thrill seeking activities such as mountain biking, hiking as well as events hot enough to make the summer sizzle!

“Summer in Steamboat means sunny days and cool, crisp nights, as the Champagne Powder® snow gives way to lush greenery, warm breezes and wildflowers exploding with color,” said Andy Wirth, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Steamboat’s lively lineup, from mountain biking, hiking and Gondola Square Adventure Zone activities to specialty dinners, drinks and cooking classes, all reinforce our continued commitment as a year-round family resort destination.”

The resort will open June 8-10, and then move to daily operations from June 15 -August 26. During fall season, the resort will be open for Labor Day Weekend, August 31-September 3, then weekends only through September 23. Tignes France
Summer Ski area 130 hectares, 20 km of pistes, 750 m of vertical drop, the summer ski area at 3,000 m is waiting for you. The snowpark (750 m by 250 m) is the place for freestylers to hang out, with bumps and jumps for everyone, a cool zone. It's a top playground for real snowsports fans, and the soft summer snow is also ideal for beginners. The glacier is accessible to pedestrians, who can visit the Ice Grotto and see the glacier and surrounding peaks (Grande Casse, Grande Sassière, Mont Pourri, the Mont Blanc range, etc.). Take a trip into the heart of the high mountains!

For the first time, the Tour de France will start from London and will make a stop in Tignes. This stop at high altitude will be followed by a day of rest in order for the cyclists and the whole retinue to relax and enjoy the magnificent mountain landscapes. Mont-Blanc tramway
From the Fayet or Saint Gervais, crossing the Col de Voza and Bellevue, the Tramway du Mont-Blanc carries you to the Nid d'Aigle at 2372 m : a beautiful viewpoint over the Bionnassay glacier.

Calum Clark, who has worked as a senior World Cup event manager for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) since 2004, has been named as USSA's new vice president, events, according to USSA President and CEO Bill Marolt.
Clark will be responsible for management of around 20 major international events in the USA including World Cups, U.S. Championships, Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix and other Continental Cup-level competitions, overseeing around a $5-million budget. "Calum has shown great leadership in his tenure with USSA, producing great events that benefited all of our stakeholders," said Marolt. "He is a strong leader with the ability to collaborate well with teammates and colleagues to produce world-class events. We're excited to promote him to our management team."
Clark came to USSA in 2004 after working in a variety of events-related positions including both the 2000 Sydney and 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games. He has a strong background in sport, competing as an alpine athlete, as a coach and as executive director of a regional ski association in his native Australia. During the 2002 Olympics he worked as a senior venue manager at Snowbasin, working with alpine downhill and super G events. "This is an amazing opportunity for me professionally and a great honor to be able to represent USSA and the great athletes in our program," said Clark. "Partnership is a key element of our event success, and USSA has some outstanding event partners. I'm looking forward to growing these relationships to take our events to the next level."
Clark recently left for a senior sport management opportunity with the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee, but returned to USSA when this new opportunity became available. "I've had some hard decisions to make recently, but I'm excited to be staying with the USSA Team," said Clark, a former ski racer who started in event work as a part-time college job in Australia. Clark will start his new position in June. He and wife Maikella have a young son, Finley, and will live in Park City. He replaces longtime Vice President Annette Royle, who is leaving USSA in June to become president of the Utah chapter of a national charitable organization.
