Kvitfjell- Norway
Kvitfjell is not the largest ski destination in the world, but many people declare that it is one of the best. The reason is probably the variation of the slopes skiers will find here. For the youngest as well as for beginners we have small bunny hills and for the more advanced skiers we can offer steeper slopes where the skies really catches wind. Skiers at all levels will find their own challenge in Kvitfjell that is why so many ski enthusiasts return to our destination.
Quality is our motto. Everything that has been and is being build here in Kvitfjell is of the highest quality, and that includes the destination as a whole. More than NOK 200 millions has been invested into different projects, which results in that Kvitfjell is one of the most modern state-of-the-arch destinations in Norway. Kvitfjell is able to cover approximately 80% of all slopes with artificial snow and due to this we are one of the first destinations to open every year. Number of lifts: 7
Lift capacity: 8100 p/h
Longest run: 3500 m
Vertical drop: 840 m
Highest mountain: 1044m

There are many reasons why you should visit us in Kvitfjell this winter. From Kvitfjell you have access to more than 600 km of cross-country trails, a snowboard/terrain park, great ski instructors who will teach you to enjoy skiing, one of Norway’s most luxurious hotels in the mountains, etc. Kvitfjell

New Hampshire Ski Tourism
The 2007-08 New Hampshire ski season officially kicked off this weekend with Bretton Woods making some great snow and getting their lifts turning. The weather has been nice and chilly for this time of year allowing for steady snowmaking. Many NH areas have been taking advantage of it to stockpile some snow, even if they aren't open yet. Several more areas should be open in the next week or two.

The forecast ahead looks excellent at this point. At this rate we could have a good amount of terrain open for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend
"Superbowl of Ski Shows". It's a great opportunity to visit with all your favorite ski areas. The show runs Thursday (15th) through Sunday (18th).
Since all skiers and riders like deals, keep an eye and ear open for special ticket and season pass deals while there. Don't forget all the free stickers and other swag the areas bring. If you're thinking of going be sure to hit the link below for more information and a coupon good for $3 off admission. Ski NH will also be at the show. We'll have a big booth in the New Hampshire section, so you won't be able to miss us! If you make it to the show print out this email newsletter and bring it to our booth to be entered in a giveaway for our email newsletter subscribers only. We'll be giving away lift tickets, Anarchy Goggles, Ski NH t-shirts, Bern Helmets and more.

Whistler Blackcomb B.C.
November 12, 2007: Mother Nature has dumped over 80 centimetres (2.6 ft) of snow on Whistler Blackcomb in the last 48 hours bringing the mountain’s snow base to 108 centimetres (3.5 ft). The Environment Canada Alpine Forecast is calling for a small reprieve from the intense weather today and Wednesday before storms pummel the mountains again on Thursday and Friday with 20-40 centimetres (8-16 in) of snow.

Operations crews and all front line staff are going full steam ahead to prepare the mountains for the upcoming winter season. Official opening day is November 22 but with outstanding snowfall this week an early opening is being considered. A decision will be made Wednesday, November 14 in the afternoon.

“It’s dumping snow on the mountains right now," says Doug MacFarlane, Whistler Blackcomb’s Mountain Manager. "This weather system has been a huge boost for our early season conditions and will build an excellent base for the rest of the season.

Dolomites _ Italy
Dolomiti Superski area we got the first snow fall. On the weekend, in some of our ski resorts, it snowed up to 60 cm that covered the Dolomites landscape with a white mantle. This is a good sign for the winter opening on December 1. Book your skiing holiday in the Dolomites. Fly with Ryanair and take the Low Cost Transfer from the airports of Venezia, Milan (Bergamo) and Verona. Those bring you directly and for only 17 Euro (one way) to the Dolomites.

90% of the ski slopes in the Dolomiti Superski area are complete with a programmed snowmaking facility which guarantees wonderful skiing conditions throughout the entire season. Furthermore, 90% of the ski slopes are situated at an altitude between 1,500 and the 3,269 m of the Marmolada glacier
