OLYMPIC CHAMPION SHAUN WHITE NAMED NASJA OUTSTANDING COMPETITOR
PARK CITY, Utah (April 13) - Olympic halfpipe gold medalist Shaun White (Carlsbad, CA) has been named winner of the North American Snowsports Journalists Association (NASJA) annual Outstanding Competitor Award.
Before becoming the Olympic champion, the 19-year-old White became the first person to sweep all five events in the Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix - the lone Olympic qualifying series - and the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colo. After the Games of Torino ended, White also won the halfpipe contest at the U.S. Open at Stratton Mountain, Vt.
Announcement of the honor for "The Flying Tomato" was made during the annual NASJA convention in Fernie, B.C.

Mt Hood summer Camps
We are gearing up for our 28th summer of operation. Timberline Lodge is currently hovering around the 200 inch snow depth mark at the 6200 foot lodge elevation. With 200 inches at Lodge we have more than double that amount up on Palmer!! The Forest Service has measured the Mt Hood snowpack at 138% of normal, which is the most snow we’ve seen since 2000. We are still in a wet weather pattern here in the Pacific Northwest to continue with small storms coming through, dumping a few inches here and there to continue padding the snowpack up on the Palmer snowfield.
Sign-ups are going well. We've increased the prices of sessions 5, 6, and 7 to offset the additional housing units we'll be renting to accommodate those bigger sessions. We anticipate that we'll have to increase the prices for session 3 and session 8 sometime during the month of April. For the current dates and prices: http://www.mthood.com/prices_dates.htm
