Event Description: ICER AIR is the first stadium big air ski and snowboard competition to be held in the United States . Continuing in the tradition of Icer Air 2005, Esurance ICER AIR is a unique and outrageous urban event that will break boundaries by bringing the snow from the slopes to San Francisco , merging urban and athletic communities with an exciting event.
On November 4 th , 20 of the most accomplished world class skiers and snowboarders, including Olympic medalists and X-Games champions will descend a 100 foot high ramp, covered with over 200 tons of snow. Ideal jumps will have riders flying 80-100 feet at heights of up to 20 feet. Jonny Moseley will be on hand to host and emcee the event.
ICER AIR will have a festival-like atmosphere, featuring the inaugural San Francisco Ski & Snowboard Festival and plenty of surprises throughout the day.
SF Ski & Snowboard Festival:
The inaugural SF Ski and Snowboard Festival, co-organized with Snowbomb.com, will feature the best gear from industry leaders such as Head Skis, Ride Snowboards, The North Face, and many others on the promenade level of the stadium. Every major ski resort from the Lake Tahoe area will be on hand with special promotions for Esurance ICER AIR attendees.
In addition, Lombardi Sports will be hosting a huge ski and snowboard sale at Scoreboard Plaza during the event with the latest and greatest ski and snowboard gear marked up to 50% off.
Format:
Ten professional skiers and ten professional snowboarders will compete for two grand prizes to be awarded to the top skier and top snowboarder, respectively.
There will be a total of three rounds, with each athlete completing one jump per
round; the lowest score will be dropped. Skiers and snowboarders will alternate jumps and jump order will be drawn randomly.
