Storms Rocket Snowbird Snowfall Over 300 Inches Powder-Filled Season Continues with 125-Inch Base and More on the Way

Snowbird, Utah – Two consecutive months of over 130 inches of snowfall have created an epic season for Snowbird and recent storms have pushed the season-to-date snowfall total at the Little Cottonwood Canyon resort past the 300-inch mark.

Two storms have deposited over three feet of snow on Snowbird since the skies opened Monday. The resort received 21 inches of snow out of a Monday into Monday night storm and 16 inches of snow from a storm that began Tuesday afternoon and has not stopped yet.

Snow is continuing to fall and additional accumulations measured in feet are expected throughout the week with multiple storms on the radar.

Snowbird is reporting a base of 125 inches at mid-mountain and over 315 inches so far this year for the resort that averages 500 inches a year. Snowbird has received 134 inches of snow over the past 26 days, or an average of 5 inches a day for nearly the entire month of January.

Sun Valley

Let's make this simple; it's snowing like crazy out here and the holiday crowds are gone. Not that we need to tell you what that means, but it means now is the time to be here. Everything's open with a good base, the Super Pipe, the Tubing Park, everything. The forecast says there's more snow heading this way
