got snow ?              News from The Steep, Deep & Extreme International Big Mountain Slopes

12.06.2005

A friendly reminder came in from The Netherlands
Not all the snow is out side! ! Unlimited-snow is a developer of Indoor facilities. With the change in the weather seems I have not had an email update from an indoor snow facility in a while. Kees A. in the Netherlands had this extract I though should blend in well

For ski fanatics, snowboard enthusiasts or bobsled aficionados, holidays are no longer limited to expensive vacations in the Swiss Alps or the winter season. The new trend is to offer affordable winter-themed entertainment all year, indoors, using either imported real snow or its manufactured equivalent.
"You can get acquainted with the sports by going just around the corner rather than traveling away for the experience, and that has attracted more people to winter sports," said Kees Albers, general manager and co-founder of Amsterdam-based Unlimited Snow, which specializes in developing ice-themed entertainment. "If you're not familiar with snowy mountains and skiing, this is an [interim] step."
As the creator of 'The Arctic,' a franchise of theme parks inside domes built in the shape of an igloo, Unlimited Snow hopes to offer one of the hottest operations in this new craze. Entertainment and education are combined to take visitors to a virtual version of the world's coldest climate.

Nine Inches of powder has fallen since lifts closed yesterday. That’s nine inches of untracked, fresh, yummy powder! That, combined with the scheduled opening of Thunder and Union Pass Quads will give riders and skiers access to dreamy terrain today! Coverage was excellent yesterday when the Gondola opened, providing silky groomers and deep powder glades. Nothing but fantastic conditions.
