Whistler Blackcomb
Whistler Mountain OPENS Early
This past weekend, over 75 cm (over 2 feet) of snow has fallen on Whistler Blackcomb Mountains and the forecast is for snow to continue for the rest of the week - view Alpine Forecast. With this incredible snow fall, Whistler Mountain will OPEN early on Saturday, November 18 for the rest of the Winter 2006/07 season. Blackcomb Mountain will open as scheduled on November 23. NEW Symphony Express Lift Construction on Schedule
Even with the snow in the alpine, construction on the NEW Symphony Express high speed quad lift is on schedule for a grand opening celebration December 16. The new lift-accessed area in the high alpine of Whistler Mountain is crowned the Symphony Amphitheatre to reflect its spectacular natural amphitheatre-like terrain with its unmatched views, vast open bowls, deep snow and gladed finales. The Symphony Amphitheatre, accessed by the Symphony Express, opens up over 1000 acres of fantastic intermediate to advanced terrain.

Stöckli Ski-Testing days in November and December 2006
For the start of the season, the Swiss ski company, Stöckli, gives you the chance to try out skis on the Titlis glacier over three weekends.
Stöckli skiers go along with you and give tips and tricks on the latest techniques and trends. The trial days are 24 - 26 November 06, 1 - 3 and 8 - 10 December 2006. Two overnight stays incl. ski pass, 2 days' technique course and trial material cost from CHF 299.

World Cup Ski Jumping; 16/17 December 2006
On 16/17 December 2006, as in every year, the World Cup Ski Jumping takes place in Engelberg. Then less than two weeks later, there's the Continental Ski Jumping (27/28 December 2006) on the natural jump in Engelberg. It is worthwhile getting your tickets now. One or two day tickets can be ordered simply on line from CHF 25.00 (adult, one day) under www.ticketcorner.ch.
There is a new ticket category this year: the ticket gives you access to the "eagle-eye" tribunal. This is on the level of the ski-jumper's landing area. The price is CHF 75 (1 day) or CHF 130 (2 days) and includes a blanket, snack and drink at the tribunal stand.

Prices remain unchanged in summer 2007
We are delighted to tell you that the Engelberg – Mt. Titlis return ticket prices
will again be unchanged in summer 2007! The ony modification will be for a
trip on the Ice Flyer glacier chair lift including admission to the unique Glacier
Park in the Alps, which will cost CHF 12 for individual travellers and CHF 9 per
person for groups.
The cable-cars between Engelberg and Mt. Titlis will operate every day with
the exception of the periods set aside for annual maintenance work, from 13 -
24 November 2006 inclusive and from 12 - 23 November 2007 inclusive.
New artificial snowmaking equipment
To complement the glacier with its guaranteed snow cover, the Titlis Rotair
Cableways have renewed their existing artificial snowmaking equipment and
also installed new facilities. In the last two years, they have invested a total of
CHF 8.5 million in artificial snowmaking equipment. Starting this winter, they
will offer 41 kilometres of slopes with guaranteed snow cover, which is equivalent
to 50% of all slopes!
