Mammoth Mountain
There has been some chatter around the Mountain about the lack of snow and waiting for the "big dump" of the season, and I have to tell you, from someone who is out on the Mountain on a daily basis, the snow is great! You may not be able to go everywhere off the top and you may have to be a little more observant of downhill obstacles, but the snow we do have is fast and fun. The footage and pictures that you see on the website and the Snow Report are current - if you look in the video archives, the powder shots are from Saturday!Today couldn't be shaping up better! The temperatures are going to be in the 30's with beautiful sunny skies and very calm winds. We are expecting to operate all lifts with the exception of Chair 7, Chair 20, and Chair 26. All lifts are wind and weather permitting so check the Snow Report for updates.Stop waiting and get up here! Ski and ride safe!

With trail counts approaching 60 and temps moderating into the 20's, today should be a beaut. Look for 8 lifts to turn from 9 until 4pm, with sunshine and relatively light winds. Forecasters are calling for natural snow Friday through Sunday but are still shy about accumulations.

It was a slow start to the ski season. The good news is that winter has definitely arrived! With the last two nights bringing the coldest temperatures of the winter thus far, snowmakers are cranking away. The long term forecast looks like the cold is here to stay which means plenty of time for snowmaking to continue.
We got a small storm Monday that put as much as 8-10" of new snow on the ground. While many areas received some mixed precipitation as part of the storm, that will work as an awesome base beneath the current snowmaking efforts. Now it sounds like we may get 1-4 inches tomorrow too!

Watch our Snow Report!
As winter kicks back in, you can keep a close eye on all of NH's ski areas in one location. The SkiNH.com Snow Report covers all the alpine and nordic ski areas in NH. (photo: Pats Peak 1/17/07) Over the next week you should be able to see trail counts continue to grow as the snowmakers and nature do their thing.
It's quotes like this from WMUR-TV in Manchester, NH that can really help get you excited! "The winter-time pattern we are now firmly entrenched in not only means cold air, but the chance of ice and snow every two to five days."

We are expecting "significant snow" for Friday which given our durable base, should provide skiers with far and away the best skiing so far this season. And boy do you deserve it! Conditions on the mountain have improved dramatically with this week’s snow, despite the fact that it was less than we had hoped for. The snow pack on the upper reaches of the mountain is decent and our vaunted snowmaking system is running at 100% (yup, both guns have been blazing!). Which will help alleviate the thinness on the bottom of the hill. For the first weekend all year we will be offering the entire main mountain with the Single Chair and the Sunnyside Double with nearly 30 of our legendary trails open. The Practice Slope and the Callie’s Corner Handle Tow will also be running, we hope to have Birdland going too, but we will need some help from Mother Nature on Friday to pull that off. With Friday’s expected snow we should have the best skiing of the season. Thanks to all of our skiers for your patience this year. We all really deserve a top-notch weekend of skiing!
Single Chair
The Single Chair Capital Campaign is under way and we are working diligently to achieve the goal of raising $1.54 million to fund the historic restoration of our iconic Single Chair. We have already raised nearly $600,000! Skiers will notice a large campaign thermometer on the base of the Single Chair showing the campaign’s progress. We are already 1/3 of the way there, help us keep the momentum going! The Single Chair Restoration has great historical significance for the State of Vermont and for the world of skiing. As such, it has been enthusiastically endorsed and supported by two remarkable Vermont nonprofit partners, the Preservation Trust of Vermont and the Stark Mountain Foundation . Through these two tax-exempt organizations, donors are able to make tax deductible gifts.
