Just amazing?
I read a ski magazine's top ten resorts and have to wonder? Top ten advertisers, top ten in popularity or top ten asigned by demographic subscriptions?
So, With a panel of die hards at hand we've pasted to together THE OTHER version of North America's top Ten
based upon size of mountain, pitch, average snowfall amounts, lifts
and the "F" factor ........ Fun.
1-Whistler - Blackcomb - big mountian, steep terrain, and a base village big enough to keep you going after the lifts close.
2-Squaw Valley - Extreme terrain without any doubt and a very long season, BIG BANG for the buck! Alex gave mavericks a place to air it out, The Palisades & KT-22
3-Snowbird - Quality of snow, Big Mountian has "Bob the Devil" rooted, don't miss the Coffin Chutes or Pipeline.
4-Mammoth Mountain- One gondola gets you to a majority of advanced terrain sometimes even in July.
5-Vail- so much mountian, so much of a village and so many places to explore.
6-Panorama- I believe Panorama is a hidden jewel of a mountain, nice and steep , and great lift connectivity.
7-Kicking Horse - Has to be a pow hounds paradise. very very deep, bring a snorkel.
8-Jackson Hole - Corbits one of the ultimate launch pads in the Rockies.
9-Timberline Lodge- The length of the season, alone hands down.
10- *Wildcard*, I know some of you might say, What about my resort? ,...Alta, Baniff, Breckenridge,Fernie, Grouse, Killington, Jay, Mauna Kea Hawaii ........ Snowmass, Sun Valley & Wild Cat. It's All good when the lifts are running

Teton Gravity Research -
LOST AND FOUND is the story of the extraordinary season of 2007 as seen
through the eyes of world-class skiers and snowboarders. With global
drought persisting and ski resorts closing around the world, athletes are
forced to follow the snow, sending them deep into the uncharted north
country of Alaska and Canada. Filmed almost entirely in North America, LOST
AND FOUND is a testament to the terrain and conditions that only exist in
the Western Hemisphere. This film will take you into the vast, unexplored
Tordrillo Mountains of Alaska, proving that some of the best big mountain
riding in the world is still completely undiscovered. Athletes take
advantage of the bountiful winter in British Columbia, hit disturbing park
features in Aspen and score over-the-head powder pillows at Skeena
Heliskiing. The winter of 2007 was feast or famine; LOST AND FOUND
documents the feast.
PLACES: Tordrillo Mountains AK, Skeena Heliskiing BC, Jackson Hole, Utah,
Montana, Aspen, Pemberton BC, Kicking Horse BC, Austria, Switzerland and The
Candide Invitational.
