got snow ?              News from The Steep, Deep & Extreme International Big Mountain Slopes

10.25.2005

The first snow has already fallen in the Matterhorn village at the beginning of October, covering our ski resort with a fine powder. Walkers and hikers can still however enjoy themselves to their hearts content. The Autumn is showing its most beautiful side with beautifully coloured trees and mild temperatures.

Zermatt voted the best European holiday destination.
Highlights of the forthcoming Winter season:
- Matterhorn Ski Safari
- Part of the Matterhorn Täsch Terminal opened.( PARKING )
Matterhorn Ski Safari offered by Zermatt Bergbahnen covers 15 demanding downhill runs. However, before you can ski down you first have to go up: on this safari the railways carry skiers up to a height (calculated overall) of 10,000 metres - in one single day. An ambitious tour for those who want to experience it and are in good physical shape.

Philharmonic Orchestra have already announced that they will be returning to Zermatt next year (5-24 September 2006).
Around 2,500 visitors attended the twelve concerts of the Classic Festival in Zermatt. Performances were given by highly gifted stars of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra which is considered one of the best in the world. They included: the famous 12 cellists (performing classical film music scores), the Scharoun Ensemble Berlin, Emmanuel Pahud (flute), Albrecht Mayer (oboe) and Christiane Oelze (soprano)
