Exceptional vertical drops, famous pistes and tremendous glacier skiing have given the Grands-Montets its prestigeous reputation. A resort of international renown due to the extent and variety of its itineraries. The geographical situation plus snow canons on the lower slopes permit the ski area to remain open until the beginning of May.

Wild Cat
5-8" of new snow opened a bunch of terrain on the Cat
- 15 trails opened today! (back up from 26 to 40 trails!). Granted
many trails are open on thin cover, so you want to keep a watch where
you're going . . . but it's just what we needed to get some meat back on
the bones! This snow had some body to it, so it's here to stay!
Snow is
in the forecast all week as well, so if your throat is feeling a little
scratchy . . . there's good medicine for that up here in Pinkham Notch!
(wink, wink --- this isn't about sitting around a pot of lemon & honey
tea!).

Sugarloaf
Open trails: 76
Open lifts: 9
Grooming: 52
Miles: 32.47
Acres: 384.43
Primary Surface: Packed Powder/Machine Groomed
Secondary Surface: Powder
Coming soon: THREE Maine Days this week!
The 4 inches of snow we received last night will
be groomed out on 52 trails tonight, making for
some excellent packed powder conditions. But you
should still be able to find some powder on the
sides tomorrow.
We'll have 76 trails open and nine lifts
scheduled to run. We saw little or no wind today,
and we can expect the same tomorrow, so that
fresh snow should stay where it is.
Mother nature's timing with this new snow
couldn't be more perfect. We have decided to
extend our Maine Days this week to include
Tuesday and Thursday, as well as the usual
Wednesday. Maine residents can ski for $26 per
day. And if you want to ski all three days, and I
highly suggest that you do, we have some
impressive ski and stay packages for Mainers.
