New snow is falling today and there's snow in the forecast right on through the weekend. A few inches here, a few more there: just enough to put every Sugarloafer in the skiing and riding mood and make miles of soft, carvable corduroy all over the mountain.

Ninth Annual U.S. Freeskiing Nationals At Snowbird The world’s best freeriders show up at Snowbird Feb. 1 for the first stop on the four-event Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series. Along with a Skiercross Series, the Freeskiing World Tour boasts an overall prize purse of $100,000 for 2006. The Top six men and top four women at the Bird will split $12,500 in prize money. It’s too late for you to register this year, but head up and watch the action; maybe take a test run on the course once the comp ends.
