It happens! My apologies for missing yesterdays report.

I call this the "EXteneded" part of the season. I know for some of you this past weekend may have been the finale for your favorite home base resort. Unfortunately, US. Forest Service permits, insurance, ans staffing issues combined play a part in some resorts closing.
Driving home, it was sad to see a favorite "playground" sitting near the Donner summit closed with a solid foot of new snow.

Alyeska Resort is CLOSED skiing and riding today, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We do plan to re-open the lifts for skiing and riding this upoming Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am - 5:30pm. Which is April 21st through the 23rd. The 29th annual Spring Carnival is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, please look on-line for a full schedule of events. Current temps are 34 degrees at the base, 29 at midway, and 24 at the top.
