World Championships, ARE, Sweden
ARE, Sweden (Feb. 5) - For the third consecutive day, high winds and blowing snow forced organizers Monday to postpone the first race of the 2007 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, pushing the men's super G back to Tuesday at 4 a.m. ET. U.S. fans will be able to follow World Championships coverage live beginning Tuesday with the rescheduled men's super G. NBCSports.com and MediaZone.com will team up for live coverage of every race during the World Championships, which run until Feb. 18 in Are. The race change means a doubleheader for Tuesday with Bode Miller (Bretton Woods, NH) defending his SG title from the 2005 Worlds in Bormio, Italy, and the women's super G, originally set for Sunday and postponed until Tuesday, re-set to follow the men's super G at 6:30 a.m. ET. The men's super G, originally slated to be held Saturday as the opening event in the first Worlds in Are since 1954, was postponed by poor weather, including gusting winds and wet snow, until Monday with a 6:30 a.m. ET start; as the winds continued for a third day, organizers delayed the start by 30 minutes but at noon, local time (6 a.m. ET), they announced the rollback for one more day. and, ...

Jackson Hole
The days are getting warmer, and after last week's chill, even twenty degrees feels like a beach party. Down at the base, temperatures rose into the thirties, making the snow soft and forgiving. Perfect halfpipe weather for the Bro Down competition, and superior for those of us whe prefer not to demonstrate their skill in front of a crowd by hittin rock drops in the trees, or even Little Britches, our beginner terrain park. Today should be just as yummy.

All 8 lifts and up to 72 trails and glades. The majority of our beginner and intermediate terrain will be groomed up again overnight. We’ve opened Upper Goat (and the 10 trails off it that were closed for snowmaking/grooming) and have completed snowmaking on Northway/Angel’s Wiggle so these have re-opened too. All 3 of our parks are open now, albeit with limited features in the main park.

Steamboat
Mother Nature's latest tempest has tossed tons of snow everywhere! When the sky cleared this morning, the bright sun exposed powder hounds scrambling for their favorite stashes like mice under a moldy hay bale.

Rudi's to Storm Peak Express was soft--so soft, that everywhere I turned it felt as though I was skiing across wet drywall and my boots were juuussst about to punch through. On the ride up I witnessed the wrath of the wind's fury. Some spots looked as though they have been sand blasted, while other areas are so buried, you can't tell what's underneath. Based on the drift alignments, I figured Flying Z would be loaded up.

Holy bottomless bunkers! While pushing through Rudi's, I had thought it might be time to lose some weight, but once I started drift busting across The Ridge to Big Meadow, I was meat-eatin' proud once again. Each turn was a deeper and deeper explosion. At one point, I was worried about being alone when I set up to launch off a perfect ramp and ended up plowing through 4 feet of endless chest deep drift. After drying off, I continued down Drop Out (far skier's left) and Vortex (far skier's right) to show off under the lift.

Sugar Bowl
The Coldstream Terrain Park is one of the best parks seen at here at Sugar Bowl! Snowmaking improvements this summer have given us the ability to put more snow in the park. We have Seven jumps in the park ranging from 25’-40’ Look before you leap! Our jumps may appear bigger than they really are from above, this is so they [the jumps] have good landings. The rail line continues to grow as we find or build fun stuff to be put out. Look for new rails to arrive without notice throughout the winter! Don't forget to check out Buena Vista! You can run the first three turns of the X-Games Qualifier course before we turn them into intermediate rails and jump! Our Golden Gate Park is our best park for all users. Small jumps, short rails, and natural terrain challenges are riding great. Don’t know how to ride jumps and rails? Come up and take a lesson with one of our freestyle accredited instructors. Our Superpipe is in the works! We have been making as much snow as we possibly can through out the nights! We are moving snow so it is only a matter of days until the pipe is open!!!
