Grouse Mountain
FREE SKI/BOARD DAY AT GROUSE MOUNTAIN FRIDAY, APRIL 13, 2007

Grouse Mountain will kick off the final weekend of the epic 2007/08 winter season with a day of free skiing and riding for all guests who bring a donation for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Donations may be made in cash (suggested minimum $5) or a minimum of 5 non-perishable food items.
This has been a season for the books. The snowfall was positively relentless, which made for some of the best conditions imaginable. This is our way of celebrating and giving back to the community at large. The Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society does important work throughout the year and we happy to support their efforts.
While food donations are certainly welcome, due to the high volume of supplies purchased by the Food Bank Society, cash donations will literally go three times further, giving your $5.00 donation a food purchasing power of $15.00. So come on out and join us!

Whistler BC, The addictive quality of skiing and snowboarding is a fact of life in Whistler, where a set of boards is regarded as the key to self-actualisation. In late spring, little infidelities creep into the community, with mountain bikes, golf clubs, climbing gear and surfboards being hauled out of storage.
This April 13-22, at the 12th TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival, an epicenter of sport-inspired art, the surfboard is set to enjoy its first starring role.
In conjunction with Brave Art, surfboards will become the latest canvass for artists to express themselves with.
Brave Art, the Festival’s revolutionary art show of the best in urban and street art showcases the work of over 30 artists in a 150 plus piece installation, ranging from canvas, sculpture, skate decks, film and graffiti. Nothing if off limits for these street artist superheroes. Everything is canvass.
The Masterpiece in Motion snowboard art competition is going into its third year at the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival, with the original snowboard and skateboard graphic design work of 30 finalists to hang on display at the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre from April 13-22 2007.
It was only a matter of time before the surfboards were pulled into the mix.
The surfboard exhibit will launch at the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival, before traveling across Canada , to raise awareness about the Surfrider Foundation.
High-octane meets high-brow, at the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival, with flagship afterdark events like the Fashion Exposed sensory assault, Pro Photographer Showdown, Brave Art exhibit, Words and Stories jam session and 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown translating the on-hill energy of the world’s best ski and snowboard athletes into every conceivable artistic medium.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yulong Mountain) is the southernmost glacier in the Northern Hemisphere. Consisting of 13 peaks, among which Shanzidou is the highest one with an altitude of 5,600 meters (18,360 feet), Jade Dragon Snow Mountain stretches a length of 35 kilometers (22 miles) and a width of 20 kilometers (13 miles). Looking from Lijiang Old Town in the south which is 15 kilometers (nine miles) away, the snow-covered and fog-enlaced mountain resembles a jade dragon lying in the clouds, hence, the name Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
The 13 peaks, which have the altitudes of at least 4,000 meters, are covered by snow all year round; the mountain is called the "Natural Glacier Museum" for it has all types of glacier
