Mountain Sports International
Now in its eleventh year, the US Freeskiing Open (USFO), presented by Suzuki, will return to Copper Mountain, Colo, Jan. 31 – Feb. 3, 2008, bringing together hundreds of the world's best new school ski athletes and thousands of eager spectators. Athletes will compete in three disciplines – superpipe, slopestyle and big air – for a combined $60,000 prize purse. The easiest, best, and fastest way to get info about the resort is to check out their Web site at www.coppercolorado.com

After last year's highly progressive competition, in which Jon Olsson introduced the Kangaroo Flip in the park and Peter Olenick landed a double flair in the pipe, this year’s event will surely be a highlight of the season. As always, Copper Mountain provides an ideal après and nightlife scene, with Boulder-based 3oh!3 bringing their heavy-hitting hip hop/rock sound to the Village following the Invitational Big Air event.

Shiga Kogen - Japan
After an overcast start to the day the sun is out again this morning and while it may not turn out to be as fine a day as yesterday, it looks like it will be sunny and fine throughout the day. Yesterday was a mild day but it is starting out milder still this morning, though the temperature is below zero in all resort areas as of 9am.

Flicker Photo
Snow depths remain largely unchanged as there hasn't been any new snowfall in the last few days. While tomorrow looks set to be another fine day, we can maybe expect more snow the day after and mid-weeek.
