Come up to Big White and Silver Star, where the snow is the BEST it's been all season, with over a 250 centimetre base. We are featuring fabulous specials such as our Kids Stay and Ski Free promotion, and the Stay and Ski at Big White or Silver Star from $100. Explore all of the very best deals at our new 'dual mountain'
Following the recommendations in a special consultant's report that was completed earlier this winter, Big White Ski Resort recently re-opened the Cliff Chair and area to skiing and snowboarding.
This area has been closed since Jan. 6 due to an avalanche, which claimed the life of our friend and co-worker, Australian skier, Leigh Barnier.
Our professional Ski Patrol and Avalanche Control teams have worked diligently to prepare this area for safe skiing and riding. With the approval of the Barnier family, we have now re-opened this terrain and we welcome our skiers and riders to enjoy this popular ski and snowboard area once again.
Silver Star Freestyle Team. T.J. Schiller will be a guest judge at the 3rd Annual Showdown Throwdown Hoedown set for March 29 and 30.
Giddy-up to Silver Star for this not-to-be missed event! The slope-style competition is open to both Pro and Amateur skiers and boarders and features more than $10,000 in cash and prizes. There's also the popular Beer Corral and BBQ at the TELUS Terrain Park and after each day of competition, the party then heads to the Club Saloon, where The Young'Uns will take to the stage.
K2 Nationals
More than 160 of Canada's best 13-and-14 year-old ski racers will meet at Silver Star Mountain Resort March 24 to 28 to take part in the President's Choice Canadian K2 Alpine Championships.
