The National Ski and Snowboard Day has been created to celebrate snowsports and to encourage non-skiers and snowboarders to find out about these great sports through the various activities, promotions and competitions taking place across the country. Activities on the day include taster sessions at the UK's real-snow indoor slopes and artificial slopes, introductory offers on ski courses and many attractive offers from tour operators and outdoor retail shops.
Race star, Martin Bell, will be providing some high-intensity instruction with his second White Heat camp this season. The four-time UK Olympian, renowned trainer and TV personality will lead a three-and-a-half-day programme in the world class resort of Davos-Klosters in early March.
A night at the Igloo Village offers the possibility to immerse in the ancient tradition of the Inuit and to enjoy the magical winter wonderland of the alpine mountains. And what's more, having your bed right in the middle of a skiing resort gives you a head start on the ski-piste the next morning! In each Igloo Village you can indulge in the comfort of either a sauna or a whirlpool. Enjoy some mulled wine at the Igloo Bar and for dinner a genuine Gruyère cheese-fondue.
