Heavenly Valley
The skiing is great in spite of the thinner than normal cover. I skied all over the mountain. It was a hard pack on top and very fast. It was slushy down below. The last time I skied with friends from the bay area they didn't want to ski the nevada side for fear of having to walk back to California. To avoid that just go to the top of the dipper chair and ski the california trail. I can also get from nevada to california from east peak and the comet chair using tamarack to put me back on the ca trail. It is actually harder to go from California to Nevada because you must ski fast from the sky express chair via the skyline trail till you see the "Welcome to Nevada" sign. I still have 3 $40 all day buddy passes for anyone who wants them.
