OUR NEW SISTER RESORT - THE SUMMIT AT SNOQUALMIE: As I'm sure you've heard by now, The Summit was recently added to the Boyne Resort family. Boyne Resorts will carry the lease and manage operations at The Summit and Loon Mountain, NH. CNL Income Properties, Inc. purchased the Summit and Loon Mountain from Booth Creek Ski Holdings last winter. “Boyne USA’s history of innovation as well as making continuous improvements at our resorts will continue with these newly acquired facilities,” said John Kircher , president of Boyne USA Resorts’ western operations and based in the Seattle area since 1996. “Our experience has proven that a long-term vision and financial commitment to a resort is needed, which we are confident CNL and Boyne USA provide. Our understanding and love of the sport, which in our case, goes back to 1947, is one significant factor that drives us to make the facilities we own or manage even better. Keeping our customers happy means reinvesting in the property and creating the expectation of something new each season,” added John Kircher.

THE GATEWAY TO MONTAFON ST. ANTON I. M. (650 m) lies at the entrance to the Montafon Valley and is popular with all holiday-makers. Here, within a radius of 2 – 6 km are all the requirements for an active winter holiday. The Skigebiet Golm ski area can be reached in approx 3 - 5 minutes free of charge and in comfort on the ski bus

In GARGELLEN (1,423 m), the highest resort in the Montafon Alpine SCENE, the meadows and slopes of the mountain landscape in winter come into their own for the second time. At that season, pistes, tours and snowshoe trails entice one to discover the surrounding country - free from stress and with much pleasure. Skiing down to one’s hotel door is quite normal here. Snow is guaranteed.

THE INSIDER’S TIP The two picture book resorts of GASCHURN and PARTENEN lie at 1,000 m and 1,050 m respectively at the top of the Montafon Valley. The surface area of the parish of Gaschurn is greater than Lichtenstein. From Gaschurn the Versettlabahn carries one right up to the Silvretta Nova ski area, by far the largest in Montafon. Due to constant modernisation and excellent piste preparation, Silvretta Nova ranks among the highest quality ski areas in Europe. Here the 26 ski runs and 114 km of prepared pistes offer the downhill skier and naturally also the snowboarder every conceivable option up to 2,300 m. For snowboarders, the ski area has something rather special to offer: One of the largest boarderparks in Europe, the Novapark, with numerous rails, kickers and a half-pipe run is in the Silvretta Nova - so nothing else stands in the way of large boarder events and a lot of tricks. The fully developed mountain cuisine with the modern and also authentic restaurants, sun terraces and snow bars offers everything that the heart of a winter sportsman could desire.

Summer is drawing to a close and it's time to think of the early snows - and of your skiing holidays! For the forthcoming winter season Cortina d'Ampezzo is getting ready, with great ideas for ski lovers and not only them. In this period though, we have devoted our attention to skiers particularly, make available to them a practical sheet almost a guide that summarises all the useful information for organising a skiing holiday to Cortina.

SNOW GUARANTEE AND FUN ASSURED
Saying "snow" is not enough: during the last winter season many European ski resorts remained closed for a long time due to a lack of snow. The Cortina d'Ampezzo ski slopes instead offered excellent skiing conditions even with the relatively low natural snow coverage. Indeed Cortina was Italys only resort to keep its slopes open from 3 December until 25 April! Everything was made possible also thanks to the artificial snow making systems which, by serving some 90% of the slopes, guarantee your skiing fun. Plus, in Cortina 90% of the slopes are found between 1,500 and 2,900 metres, with ideal snowing conditions. The maintenance of the ski runs takes place daily and with great care. Every night, our snowcats work tirelessly until the slopes are groomed to perfection for the next days enjoyment.

Olympic Express Construction Moving Along Our construction of the new Olympic Express chairlift is in full-swing. The new Olympic Express detachable-quad chairlift provides high-speed access to Olympic Downhill, three new trails and Nevada Woods - home to some of the best tree skiing in North America - letting guests more easily experience a part of the mountain that has been under-utilized due to the existing fixed-grip lift. Olympic Express also gives guests accessing the resort from Heavenly’s Stagecoach or Boulder Lodge a quicker route to Dipper Express, Comet Express and East Peak Lodge
(snowboarders rejoice: no traverse!).
The new lift will only take > three-and-a-half minutes to ride, compared to 11 minutes on the old chair.
