BIDEZ, HOLLINGSWORTH GOLD, SILVER IN WORLD JUNIOR SNOWBOARD

VIVALDI PARK, Korea (Feb. 4) - American snowboarders Clair Bidez (Minturn, CO) and Ellery Hollingsworth (Darien, CT) finished 1-2 in halfpipe at Saturday's World Junior Championships in Korea.
Dylan Bidez (Minturn, CO) was the top American finisher on the men's side in sixth.
In the qualifiers, Bidez was first and Hollingsworth sixth. In the finals, Hollingsworth took the lead after the first of two runs. However, Bidez' second run was untouchable as she threw back-to-back 540s and head-high straight airs. Hollingsworth had a solid second pass, but it wasn't enough to uproot Bidez and take back first place. WORLD JUNIOR SNOWBOARD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Moguls
ROARK, ROBERTS ON MOGULS PODIUM IN CZECH REPUBLIC
SPINDLERUV MLYN, Czech. (Feb. 4) - It was a double podium for the U.S. Saturday as Michelle Roark (Golden, CO) and Nate Roberts (Park City, UT) finished third in a World Cup moguls event.
Norway's Kari Traa topped the women's field and was followed by France's Sandra Laoura. Canadian Alexandre Bilodeau was first in the men's event with Australian Dale Begg-Smith in second.
Roark, continuing her string of solid performances, led six American women into the top-10. She was fourth at Madonna di Campiglio, Italy on Jan. 28 and won back-to-back World Cups prior to that at Lake Placid, New York and Deer Valley, Utah. Roark, who qualified first, nailed her run today, which included a backflip and a bronco (heli/spread).
Jillian Vogtli (Ellicotville, NY) threw a near-perfect D spin in her run and placed fifth.
"It was the best one she's done in competition," said head moguls coach Don St. Pierre.
Shannon Bahrke (Tahoe City, CA) and Hannah Kearney (Norwich, VT), both Olympic Team members, finished seventh and 10th, respectively. Bahrke landed a pair of off-axis 720s, while Kearney, third in qualifying, skied well but had a few minor mishaps.
