Sugarloaf
The day started with some flurries, and then the clouds parted to allow for some beautiful sunshine – clear views in every direction. The temps stayed cold enough for the snow guns to run all day, and the open trails were in good condition. King's Landing stayed busy, and Hayburner was another popular choice.
We should all thank our snowmakers for their hard work. They’ve been going non-stop since late last week and don’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. Thanks to them we had 10 trails open today and should have a few more tomorrow, including Lower Spillway, if things go as planned.
This will be an exciting weekend at Sugarloaf. Along with some great open terrain, there will be a Holiday Arts and Crafts Show and our annual Demo Days. Saturday night is going to be a blast when the Samples kick off this year’s Bud Light Concert Series. Because it is the first concert of the season, tickets are only $5. It is an 18 and older show. Call 1-800-THE-LOAF for tickets.
Spend your Christmas on the slopes and book your early Christmas Holiday Package at Sugarloaf! Available from December 16-25 from $69-89 per person! Packages include lodging, daily lift tickets, daily adult Perfect Turn ski clinics for ages 19 and older, and use of the Grand Summit spa of the Sugarloaf Sports and Fitness Club! Book online at Sugarloaf
or call 1-800-THE-LOAF to sign up.

The Bridger Gondola opens today, allowing access to fresh, untouched terrain. Anyone who experienced the mountain over the weekend will tell you the snow is deep and soft, with the past storm's 22 inches atop an already solid base. Yesterday I found face shots and soft landings through the trees, where wind and new snow had deposited accumulation. The corduroy on the groomed runs was smooth as silk, and the tattered edges of my rock board were perfectly capable of holding a turn all the way down Casper liftline and Werner trail. My best run of the day was when I unexpectedly left the Casper liftline to head for the bottom, and floated down the face just above Sundance. If you're looking for me today, I'll be in the Gondola line when it opens. -AC Jackson Hole

What can I say...it's yet another powder day in Ski Town USA! I got to the Gondola at 8:30ish, and was surprised to see that many people were still tucked away in their cozy beds, thinking the mountain wasn't going to be that great, so I'll just sleep a little longer. I can't blame them as I'm a little foggy this morning, but those people were wrong!! It's amazing once again, deep, soft, faaassst and pretty cold so the snow is nice and light...just how we like it.

First run was the standard traverse over to White Out. The bumps were firm, with an ample coating of Mother Natures finest. Then down over the saddle to ride up Storm Peak. It's blowing pretty good up there, so make sure you're dressed properly. We then skied down Buddys, skiers right ropeline to a hard traverse right. Lower Ridge was holding a lot of fresh, we sliced and diced a few turns down to the road to Flying Z. I really like Flying Z, this run also holds a lot of snow, skiers left or right, in the pines. Today it did not disappoint, with deep turns still waiting for me as I write this. Down to Storm Peak to do it again.
