The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band may technically only be comprised of three people, but their name is no misnomer. Although the family-based act— which is comprised of finger style guitarist Reverend Peyton, his wife and washboard player Breezy Peyton and drummer/brother Jayme Peyton—have only been around for three years, these country-blues aficionados from rural Indiana have played more than 250 shows annually and logged more miles on their van than most acts who have been around for a decade. “We end up playing with a lot of punk rock bands and any kind of roots acts from bluegrass to alt-country to rockabilly to you name it,” the Reverend himself answers when asked what a typical Big Damn Band performance is like, “we’ll play with anyone, really.”

Hlíðarfjall - Iceland
The ski slopes of Hlíðarfjall are a paradise for skiers; and if you are staying in Akureyri they are right on your doorstep. The environment is of the best and the ski lifts can carry 2930 persons per hour to the slopes above. The difference in altitude from lowest point to highest is about 500 meters. The Ski Centre was built up during the years 1955-1964 but formal operations began in 1962. The ski lodge stands at a height of 506 meters above sea level and can provide sleeping accommodation in twin rooms for 22 persons, besides having a communal sleeping area which can take 70 persons. The ski hut Strýta lies at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level and has a shop and toilet facilities for the use of visitors to Hlíðarfjall The new ski lift, which has been given the name Fjarkinn, is the pride of the Hlíðarfjall Ski Centre. It is 1000 meters long and carries 4 persons per seat. Fjarkinn replaced the oldest ski lift in the country and its capacity is many times that of its predecessor; 2000 persons an hour instead of a mere 450. It is now but a 61/2 minute ride to Strýta!!

Jungfrau- Switzerland
Jungfraujoch–Top of Europe (3454 m) An excursion up to the eternal glacier world of Switzerland’s high Alps is an unforgettable experience. At 3454 metres, the Jungfraujoch is the highest-altitude railway station in Europe. From Kleine Scheidegg, the railway travels through the tunnel behind the notorious Eiger North Wall – with stops at two stations with viewing windows hewn in the bare rock – and on to the underground “peak” railway station, Jungfraujoch–Top of Europe

Schilthorn–Piz Gloria (2970 m) The Schilthorn shot to international fame as a spectacular location for the 007 film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. The views of the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau from the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant are simply stunning
Männlichen (2230 m) Enjoy the spectacular cogwheel railway trip from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen. The bottom station of the Wengen–Männlichen aerial cableway is only a few minutes walk from the railway station and village centre. From here it takes just five minutes to soar up over 1000 metres to the Männlichen summit (2230 m). Männlichen is also easy to reach from Grindelwald Grund with Europe’s longest aerial gondola.

Innsbruck - The Winter Sports Capital, twice host to the Winter Olympics offers Old World history combined with some of the best ski mountains in the world capital. The city works hard to maintain and improve its twin character as a top-class ski area and sophisticated urban center. Innsbruck, with its striking location at the foot of the Alps, offers winter guests a tempting choice of great skiing and snowboarding in six different areas.

As the ultimate winter Olympic venue, Innsbruck has hosted the world famous event twice based on an excellent variety of terrain and an impeccable infrastructure for skiers and non-skiers. The nearby village of Igls boasts the legendary men's Olympic downhill run, and stunning views of a picturesque Innsbruck below. Free shuttle bus service links the various ski areas, and the "Super Ski Pass" is the skier's key to 310 miles (500 kilometers) of ski-able terrain and 200 lifts. The pass also covers the Stubai glacier, and even gives holders the option of excursions to St. Anton and Arlberg and Kitzbuhel. Innsbruck is a living treasure house of history. Once an imperial capital, it embraces 800-year-old traditions adding to the authentic charm and elegance of the place. The city also has world class shopping, fine restaurants, and many sights from the historic "Golden Roof" to the fascinating Alpine Zoo. www.patscherkofelbahnen.at/

Stubai Glacier - Austria
For all people longing for the genuine winter sports fun, the Stubai Glacier is the optimum oppurtunity! On more than 50 kilometres of ski runs they may take their chance not only on intensive downhill skiing, carving and boarding, but cross-country skiing can be practised wonderfully on the alpine trail of a length of 4,5 km. 21 installations, among 4 cabin lifts, 6 chair lifts, 9 ski tows and training lifts and 2 magic carpets offer ski fans a trendous winter sports resort, and active athletes from all over the world a maximum skiing pleasure at 1.750 to 3.200 m above the sea level.

The new six person chairlift Fernau links the Fernau to the Gaißkarferner mountain. Snowboard freaks can find ideal conditions at the newly created "Boarder´s paradise" including Quarterpipes, Spins, Table Tops, Pro Jumps and a - 100 metres long - halfpipe . For carving fans there is a special run at Daunferner, regulated by a stoplight, where the feeling for bends can be experienced intensively. Two giant slalom runs and a high-speed run at Eisjochferner complete the offer for winter sports fans.

The adventurous and daring can be close to the "eternal ice" on the climber´s steps of the ice tower at Gamsgarten station, since this is an ideal training area for fans of climbing on ice. Every wednesday an introductory course climbing course takes place. The Stubai Glacier funiculars pay a big deal of attention to the variety offered to the vacationer: starting at a professional gastronomic service, for example in the restaurant "zur Goldenen Gams" (the golden chamois), including dressing rooms and showers to sport shops with rental and storage options www.stubai.at

Children of Winter from Warren Miller
Locations: Cordoba Alaska, Austria, Utah, Sun Valley Idaho, Steamboat Colorado,Bend Oregon,Crested Butte,Habuka Japan, Iceland and asegment Dedicated to Billy Poole.
Olympians Seth Wescott and Marco Sullivan escape from their coaches and head for Alaska to rendezvous with co-owners of Points North Heli Adventures, Kevin and Jessica Quinn. The Alaskan scene is vastly different from the slick boardercross and ski racing courses that these competitors are accustomed to. Seth and Marco are inspired by Cordova’s immense terrain and magnificent landscape as they tour the Alaskan shoreline aboard the 98-foot Maritime Maiden in search for, “classic, maritime, AK powder.” The Maid’s helicopter landing pad acts as a liaison between man and mountain, allowing this intrepid crew to access Cordova’s most remote and steepest lines

Daron Rahlves knows Austria from his years racing there on the World Cup. Two years after his retirement from the World Cup race circuit, Rahlves heads back to Austria to explore the mountains wearing, “something other than a one piece suit.” His European gate chasing days behind him, Rahlves rediscovers the Austrian Alps as a big mountain skier. These days, insanely steep lines serve as Daron’s primary competition, and he lets ‘em have it.

Utah set records for snowfall last year. Some Utah ski areas entertained more than 700 inches worth, and Utah locals took full advantage of each and every inch. Although Utah’s ski community is eternally bonded and extremely tight, Jenn Berg proves here that there truly aren’t friends on a powder day... by hiking past Jamie Pierre’s helicopter crew and pinching first tracks in some of the deepest snow ever captured on film
Ten years after winning the Olympic Gold Medal for moguls at the 1998 Winter Games, freeskiing legend Jonny Moseley travels back to Japan with his family. As they drop themselves back into the “carefully orchestrated confusion” of Japanese culture, the wild sake-fuelled dinners take some getting used to; however, Jonny makes himself right at home in the Japanese Alps And you know there is much more rippin' action
