– The TELUS Terrain Park at Lake Louise Mountain Resort has undertaken a facelift for the 2007 season. With a new staff of motivated riders dedicated to building a solid park program, the TELUS Terrain Park is starting to create a buzz in the Bow Valley and beyond.
For 2007, the Resort has allocated more terrain to the park to allow for more features and variety, and enabling skiers and snowboarders of all levels to use the features. Three major park sections have been created in the park, each specifically catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.
Says Matt Mosteller, Senior Director of Business Development for the Resort, “The TELUS Terrain Park at Lake Louise Mountain Resort has a long-standing reputation for being a great place to learn for beginners while providing a challenge for more experienced riders. We’re thrilled with the development of this year’s park for all to enjoy.”
In the park, choose from nine jumps up to 55 feet, wall rides, quarter pipes, hips, as well as a variety of rails and boxes, including the “Swamp Monster”, a fifty-eight foot S-Box. NEW YORK - Fans of the U.S. Ski Team will be able to watch the upcoming FIS Alpine World Ski Championships as NBCSports.com in conjunction with MediaZone will bring exclusive coverage of the full Championships to the USA including live web streaming daily, plus televised coverage of the men's and women's downhill, airing Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports.
Held every two years, the U.S. Ski Team will be looking to defend multiple World titles as Bode Miller (Bretton Woods, NH) has medaled in the last three World Championships, winning double gold at the 2003 and '05 championships. Also on the podium in '05 was Julia Mancuso (Olympic Valley, CA) who grabbed bronze in both the giant slalom and super G in Bormio. Both men's and women's teams are carrying huge momentum into the worlds as Mancuso and Lindsey Kildow (Vail, CO) each have three victories already this season on the World Cup, while Miller has four wins and currently leads the World Cup SG standings. Ted Ligety (Park City, UT), the Olympic combined champion, has two podium finishes this year and Steven Nyman (Provo, UT) snagged his first victory in a downhill as part of the U.S. Ski Team's historic run that included nine top-3's (five wins) over six days.
