Huge snow, lots of locals and
the only way up was the tram or a series of chairs from the base. How quickly we forget. The Bridger Gondola was opened by lunch time and all was well with the world. The rewards for waiting for the tram in the morning were unspeakable, of course.

DUNKIN' DONUTS OFFICIAL PICK-ME-UP OF THE U.S. SKI AND SNOWBOARD ASSOCIATION World Champion Snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis Spokesperson CANTON, Mass. (Jan. 3) – Dunkin’ Donuts, the number one retailer of coffee-by-the-cup in America, today announced its partnership with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA). Through this partnership, Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee will be recognized as the official pick-me-up beverage of the U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding. Dunkin’ Donuts will support the team and help promote skiing and snowboarding this winter with the Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee Program. World champion snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis will be the spokesperson for the program that will launch in January 2006.

On the 25th January 2006 the Olympic flame will coming in Val Gardena - Ortisei. The Olympic flame, symbol of the next Winter Olympiads 2006 in Torino, will cross in the next months the whole national territory. The flame will depart the 8. December 2005 in Rome.

Again the British Army Snowboarding Champoionships take place at Stubai Glacier.
Matt Lauer the famous co-anchor of the US „today show“ of NBC with more than 25 million viewers, visited the Stubai Glacier on his trip „Where in the world is Matt Lauer“? Due to perfect weather conditions you could see fascinating pictures from the Stubai Glacier - "kingdom of snow".
The glacier is an all year round ski resort and at a height of 1,750 - 3,333m snow is more than guaranteed. The highest peak on the Stubai Glacier is the ‘Zuckerhütl’ at 3,507m. Skiers can go up as far as 3,200m and from there enjoy the breath taking view of the surrounding mountains. The ski resort around the Schaufelspitze is continually being expanded not only technically but also in respect of services.
