A strong northwesterly flow over Victoria will ease and tend southwesterly as a cold front extends across the State later today. A high pressure system will move over the Bight during Sunday, then move southeastwards to Tasmania on Monday and over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. Another cold front will approach the Bight later Tuesday.
Forecast: Saturday
Rain periods developing this morning, tending to snow showers on the peaks Saturday night. Gale force west to northwesterly winds moderating later and shifting westerly.
Outlooks:
Sunday Rain, tending to snow throughout. Moderate southwesterly winds tending southeasterly.

The annual Brewfest on August 25 offers an opportunity to gather with your friends and sample some of the delicious beers being produced across the Northwest. The Big Mountain Commercial Association will offer tastes from regional breweries that specialize in that hoppy-good drink, with funds raised to support the SNOW Bus. Brewers will offer samples of their beers from 3 to 7 p.m., while Christian Johnson and the Good Wood Band perform. Up to a dozen Whitefish restaurants will also offer tasty treats. Price of the event is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Understanding Alpine Ski Racing Alpine ski racing consists of five men's events and five women's events. The rules and race configuration are the same for men and women but the courses differ mostly notably in length.

Understanding Freestyle Ski Racing The International Ski Federation (FIS) first approved freestyle skiing as a discipline in 1979. It wasn't until 1986 that a World Championship consisting of mogul, aerial, and ballet competition was held in Tignes, France.
