Snow Alert - Lake Louise, Vermont, Maine, Idaho, Washington

Sugarloaf

8 inches of new snow here at Sugarloaf this morning, and it is absolutely dumping with no signs of letting up. Forecasts are calling for more than a foot by the time snow lets up sometime tonight, which should set us up for an absolutely epic day tomorrow.

We're closing in on 100 percent open, including the Backside snowfields, thanks to 30+ inches this month, and more than 12 feet so far this season. And with even more snow in the extended forecast, it's shaping up to be one of the best President's Weeks we've ever had.

The Orage Masters Resurrects at 2008 TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler, BC

February 13 2008 ( Montreal , QC / Whistler, BC)—Orage, the ski apparel brand dedicated to Innovation Through Style, brings back the most innovative and stylish freeskiing event on the roster after a one-year hiatus.

Orage partners with the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival relocating the Orage Masters to Whistler/Blackcomb, BC on Saturday April 12th, 2008. The fifth installment of what’s become known as the “anti-comp” features 8 teams of skiing's biggest names battling it out on a custom slopestyle course for prizes honoring the top three teams.

"Partnering with the World Ski and Snowboard Festival gives the Orage Masters the exposure and platform we need to grow the event for future years. Nothing makes us happier than to be back in Whistler where the Masters concept had originated,” states Cody Lynge, Orage Team and Event Manager/Canadian Marketing Coordinator.

Each of the eight pro teams feature three males and one female, representing Salomon, Rossignol, Forefront, Armada, Dynastar, Volkl, K2 and Atomic.

Dressed in what most might wear to a costume party, athletes attack the jib-style slope course in a head to head battle with chest-thumping pride. Throwing it all on the line in a barrage of non-stop action, the Orage Masters is a not-to-be-missed show featuring the hottest talent of the newschool world.

“The Orage Masters is such a great fit for the Festival,” says TWSSF Director Sue Eckersley. “With its emphasis on collaboration and creativity, we think it caps the athletes’ season off perfectly, and provides a great and accessible on-hill event for spectators to enjoy. For thirteen years, the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival has been committed to celebrating the most exciting progressions in the freeriding scene, fusing sport with music and art for the ultimate show, and making sure the inspiration for events comes directly from the actual practitioners… so we’re excited to lend the leveraging power of TWSSF to a great grassroots industry event like the Orage Masters.”

The Orage Masters will cap off day two of the festival with an after-party sponsored by Freeskier and Kokanee Beer. The collaboration between Orage, Whistler/Blackcomb and the TWSSF's team at Watermark Communications is set to ensure that the 2008 Masters event lives up to its reputation as “the most entertaining freeski event of the season”.

Rightfully dubbed the “Anti-comp”, The Orage Masters is one part slopestyle, one part free for all and one part masquerade party. And the only place you’ll find skiing’s heavy weights riding in anything from Wizard of Oz costumes to Chuck Norris suits to pirate outfits. Competing for unique prizing on a custom built slope course, The Orage Masters is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. With a passion for innovative design, unsurpassed quality, and a stable of world-class athletes and events, Orage has been re-defining the lifestyle of ski since 1989

Camp of Champions
ro Camp Package pricing:
Each 8 Day Pro Camp Package costs $800.00 CDN.
In 2007 we launched PRO CAMP. Pro Camp has been designed for riders that want a winter quality summer camp park to ride without having to pay for summer camp facilities they don't want or need, and without having to fly to New Zealand. Pro Camp consists solely of PARK ACCESS, LIFT TICKETS and LUNCH. Everything else has been stripped out so that Pro Camp can be as economical as humanly possible. There is no supervision other than in the park, no after camp activities, no hotel usage and no accommodation. This is the camp for people who can take care of themselves, who want to learn and to ride on their own.

We built Pro Camp for the simple reason that we want everyone to be able to come to camp. Sometimes half the fun of traveling is skidding it and sleeping in your car or a tent. Whatever it takes to get where you can live the dream. "I have to sleep in my car to get good enough to live the dream? No problem, I’m there."

We announced Pro Camp in February 2007 and some of the sessions were sold out by the beginning of April. For Pro Camp the space is extremely limited so if you want to ride the best park on earth next summer I’d sign up soon to make sure you get a spot. 10% of the spots were sold out for 2008 a week after 2007 camp ended. Don’t miss out, book early, or you will miss out.

THE GATEWAY TO MONTAFON ST. ANTON I. M. (650 m) lies at the entrance to the Montafon Valley and is popular with all holiday-makers. Here, within a radius of 2 – 6 km are all the requirements for an active winter holiday. The Skigebiet Golm ski area can be reached in approx 3 - 5 minutes free of charge and in comfort on the ski bus

In GARGELLEN (1,423 m), the highest resort in the Montafon Alpine SCENE, the meadows and slopes of the mountain landscape in winter come into their own for the second time. At that season, pistes, tours and snowshoe trails entice one to discover the surrounding country - free from stress and with much pleasure. Skiing down to one’s hotel door is quite normal here. Snow is guaranteed.

THE INSIDER’S TIP The two picture book resorts of GASCHURN and PARTENEN lie at 1,000 m and 1,050 m respectively at the top of the Montafon Valley. The surface area of the parish of Gaschurn is greater than Lichtenstein. From Gaschurn the Versettlabahn carries one right up to the Silvretta Nova ski area, by far the largest in Montafon. Due to constant modernisation and excellent piste preparation, Silvretta Nova ranks among the highest quality ski areas in Europe. Here the 26 ski runs and 114 km of prepared pistes offer the downhill skier and naturally also the snowboarder every conceivable option up to 2,300 m. For snowboarders, the ski area has something rather special to offer: One of the largest boarderparks in Europe, the Novapark, with numerous rails, kickers and a half-pipe run is in the Silvretta Nova - so nothing else stands in the way of large boarder events and a lot of tricks. The fully developed mountain cuisine with the modern and also authentic restaurants, sun terraces and snow bars offers everything that the heart of a winter sportsman could desire.
