Dickey Betts, David Lindley to Rock Snowbird
Ronnie Baker Brooks Stars on Blues Night of the Rock & Blues Festival

Snowbird, Utah – The 2007 Snowbird Rock & Blues Festival brings the extraordinary combination of rock, blues and the great outdoors together July 27-28. This celebration of fine music at Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort features a night dedicated to rock Friday, July 27, and showcases the blues Saturday, July 28. “Stacked with talent, the 2007 Rock and Blues Festival is the perfect opportunity for people to enjoy great music in a beautiful mountain setting,” said Snowbird Entertainment and Special Events Director John Collins .
Headlined by Dickey Betts and Great Southern, the Friday night of rock kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Betts, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, has mastered a seamless style of lyrical melody and rhythm, marrying rock, country, jazz and blues into one unparalleled sound. Betts’ band, Great Southern, is made up of Frankie Lombardi, Dan Toler, Mike Kach and Pedro Arevalo. Performances by gritty, blues-based rockers Tishamingo and electro-acoustic, multi-instrumentalist David Lindley round out the rock acts Friday night.
Ronnie Baker Brooks anchors the blues portion of the festival, which begins Saturday at 5 p.m. Brooks’ innovative style enlivens blues-rock with deep soul and modern hip-hop vocals and funk rhythms. Daryl Coutts, Maurice “Moe” Taylor and Carlton Armstrong round out Brooks’ band.

Joining Brooks for the Saturday blues night are the saucy, witty threesome Saffire – The Uppity Blues Women, hard-rocking guitarist Tinsley Ellis and blues legend Charlie Musselwhite. General admission tickets are $35/night for adults, $12/night for children 2-12 and priority seating is $50/night. Two-day passes are available for $60 for general admission and $90 for priority seating. Tickets for the festival are available through Snowbird by calling (801) 933-2200. For Rock & Blues Festival lodging packages that include a room at a Snowbird property, concert tickets, breakfast and a Tram or Peruvian Express Chairlift ride, call (800) 453-3000.

The Rock and Blues Festival is presented by American Airlines, Snowbird Renaissance Center , PEPSI and KRCL 90.0 FM.
The Snowbird Rock & Blues Festival takes place at Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort, located 29 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport in scenic Little Cottonwood Canyon.
