Snow Alert for Alyeska

Sugarloaf
The snow has been coming down all day and does not appear to be letting up any time soon. I just came in off the hill, and we've got a good 8 inches, especially over on the King Pine side.
It's snowing so hard that by the time you get back up top for your second run, the tracks from your first run are already filled in. Some people are even talking about hitting waist deep drifts. We should easily hit the one foot of snow mark by morning. Mother nature could not have better timing with this storm. For one thing, it's Maine Day tomorrow, which means Maine residents can ski or ride all the powder they want for just $26. And secondly, the Bud Light Reggae Fest kicks off on Thursday. Ski until your thighs are screaming and then take a break and listen to the music -- How cool is that?! More details at

ST. ONGE SETS NICKELOEDON'S KIDS' CHOICE SLIME WORLD RECORD
PARK CITY, Utah (April 4) – With the Olympic Games more than a month over and the end of the season officially come and gone, what’s an athlete to do between now and summer’s first training camp? Olympic aerialist Ryan St. Onge (Steamboat Springs, CO) decided not to rest on his World Cup-winning accomplishments. Instead, he headed to Utah Olympic Park intent on setting the world record with a gravity-defying slime ski stunt for the Nickelodeon’s 19th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards. Kids honored their favorite stars of TV, movies, music and sports at this year’s slime fest hosted on April Fools’ Day by Jack Black in California at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion. Snowboard halfpipe gold medalist Shaun White (Carlsbad, CA) also was among U.S. Olympians featured during the broadcast along with men’s moguls bronze medalist Toby Dawson (Vail, CO). T
o set the aerials slime world record, St. Onge threw the trick from his arsenal with the highest degree of difficulty – a quadruple twisting triple backflip (technically called a back Full-Double Full-Full), plunging into a 10,000-gallon tank of Nickelodeon’s signature green slime. Kids’ Choice world-record skateboarding slime diver and 2003 “favorite athlete” winner Tony Hawk hosted the stunt last Thursday. Teammate and fellow Flying Ace All-Star Austin Cummings (Heber City, UT) tested the kicker and man-made slime pool several times before St. Onge took his turn. On his first of four test runs, St. Onge landed flat on his back but came up laughing and willing to head back to the top.
St. Onge stayed slimed for several hours after the stunt, foregoing an immediate trip to the shower for homemade spaghetti and meat sauce at a friend’s house. “After all that hard work, I had to eat,” said the new slime world record holder.
The entire awards telecast will air again Sunday, April 9 at 1 p.m. “Kids Choice Awards: Best of the Mess,” a 30-minute program, will air Tuesday, April 4 at 5 p.m.; Thursday, April 6 at 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 8 at 11:30 a.m. (all times are ET/PT). Kids can also catch a half-hour version of the awards show on TurboNick, Nickelodeon's broadband video service on Nick.com, this week. Go to Nick KC Apress
