STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-February 26, 2007-Steamboat’s 2006/2007 season cumulative snowfall surpassed the 250- inch mark at mid-mountain due to a series of storms that has dropped three feet of fresh Champagne Powder snow over the past three days.

“Steamboat has some of the best snow in the Rocky Mountains, the largest mid-mountain base of the major Colorado destination resorts, and a summit base that’s approaching 85 inches,” said Andy Wirth, vice president of sales & marketing for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “Steamboat is definitely showing why it is the home of Champagne Powder and will be in great shape as the resort gears up for the upcoming Spring Break period.”

Saas-Fe - switzerland

1. All in white.
That is what the Saas Valley looks like. Snow - as far as the eye can see. You float on a white cover over 145 kms of snow-white pistes. Sun, blue sky, good humour, great folks, relaxation, action and pleasure. Welcome to "Snow Valley". Current weather and snow depth

2. A Sledge Ride - That's Fun!
Sledging relaxes and ensures good humour. Off you go down the great toboggan runs in the Saas Valley. From 3 to 11 kms, during the day or at night, alone or with someone, with you and me, with husband and wife, with child and dog, in love or lonely. The sound of the runners on the snow makes you feel happy. Just one click and you can see what it's like.

3. Weissmies Snow Trail
Feel the snow under your snow shoes, jump for joy in powder snow on your skis or your snowboard - that is the Weissmies Snow Trail. First you go up on foot, then on with the planks and down you go. For the adventurous, for those who enjoy life, for the enterprising, for nature freaks. Will you also be there on 11th March 2007!?

4. Snowboard Event to the Power of Three
Ride now. Ride free. Fun and sport in snowboard paradise: three important snowboard events will be held in March in Saas-Fee: the Snowpark Tour final (16th - 18th March), the Popcorn Night Jump last stop (23rd March) and the Saas-Fee Style Session 2007 (www.ridenow.ch) "by freestylers for freestylers" (24th/25th March). Riders get the full benefit of great pistes, of the rousing atmosphere and of attractive package deals.

5. That spring feeling
In April the weather does as it likes. Not so in Saas-Fee. The snow conditions will certainly be great, right up to the end of April. Pack up your sun cream and sun glasses: get to where it's warm, get to know friendly people, have fun, talk about this and that, flirt, dance, sing... Our spring package deal can easily keep pace with the rising feelings of spring.

US SKI TEAM NEws
NORWICH, Vt. (Feb. 26) - Moguls world champion Hannah Kearney (Norwich,VT) of the U.S. Ski Team is resting at home following Feb. 21 surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament. She won't get to defend her world championship when the 2007 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships are held March 6-11 in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy. Kearney, who turns 21 today (Feb. 26), was operated on by Dr. Charles Carr at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH, after injuring her knee during training Feb. 5 before finals at a World Cup in La Plagne, France.
"I didn't think it was that bad but I guess I was in denial. I mean, I didn't even fall, didn't crash," Kearney said. "I was skiing in the middle of the course and I jammed my knee. I hyper-extended it."
The injury was "a clean [injury], so I'm lucky that way," she said. She is beginning physical therapy and rehabilitation, and has no timetable for getting back on skis.
Kearney, who swept the moguls and dual moguls titles last March during the Sprint U.S. Freestyle Championships at Vermont's Killington resort, said she plans on attending the 2007 championships at Killington next month. Killington is about an hour from Norwich.
