Mammoth Mountain
We should only get into the low 20s this afternoon so make sure you dress warm. The winds are low but have potential to pick up to around 15 mph later on today. Temps up top have dipped below zero and winds are in the 50mph range. We have a chance for snow showers starting around 4pm.

Yesterday evening we saw some snowfall and the mountain picked up about an inch of accumulation. There's snow in the forecast through the rest of this week and into the weekend. We're looking at modest snowfall numbers, but we'll see what the storms do in the next few days.

92 runs
were groomed overnight and all lifts are expected to run except for Chair 26. The temperatures should keep the snow consistent and firm, which means fast turns and smooth riding.

There are now 6 runs with
terrain features around the mountain. The Superpipe at Main Lodge is open. Wonderland Park at Canyon is in full swing with a mini-pipe of its own. Jibs Galore has some wild features. Disco Park under Discovery Chair also has beginner rails and boxes setup. There is something for every skill level at Mammoth Mountain.

Mammoth Mountain lift tickets are available at the winter holiday rate of $79 for adults, $59 for youth (13-18), and $40 for children and seniors (7-12 and 65-79).

Please remember that natural and man-made obstacles do exist so always ride with caution.

The Dolomites - Italy
This year we have lots of great news for our skiers, that will make skiing in the Dolomites even more enjoyable. New Lifts
New lift facilities 2007/2008
More comfort and safety, better slopes and connections
For years the ski resorts belonging to Dolomiti Superski have been constantly working towards modernisation and quality improvement for the joy of everybody. Rather than the creation of new ski resorts, more attention has been put towards the constant improvement of the already existing lift facilities, more safety and comfort, better and safer slopes and smoother connections that do not require you to take off your skis. During the summer seven new lifts have been built (substituting the already existing lift facilities), various slopes widened to increase safety and the artificial snow making facilities upgraded. 90% of the slopes can now be reached by the artificial snow making facilities making Dolomiti Superski one of the top ski regions in the world.

Official 2008 Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series and Freeskiing World Tour competition schedules announced

Salt Lake City UT, December 27, 2007—Blazing into its third year, the Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series (USFS) and Freeskiing World Tour (FWT) have become the largest cohesive competitive Big Mountain Freeskiing tours in the history of the sport, with the Subaru USFS featuring an unprecedented six stops. With two new locations added to the already impressive roll-call of resorts, both tours culminate at the ultimate big mountain competition venue of Alyeska Resort, Alaska, in April.

With registration for the Subaru USFS once again selling out in mere hours (Crested Butte registration to open in early January), anticipation mounts as sponsors, athletes, media and fans look forward to the 2008 calendar.

"The 2008 tour schedule is the most impressive I've ever seen," said veteran athlete and tour champion Drew Tabke, "I'm really happy to be going back to Squaw Valley, and I’m thrilled that MSI has lined up the Alyeska, Alaska, finals. That really tops it off. This is going to be a huge year for the sport of competitive Freeskiing!"

The Subaru USFS continues to bring fierce competition to the best Big Mountain Freeskiing resorts in North America. The 2008 season will include the Subaru U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championships at Crested Butte, CO. A longstanding and well-known event, this will be the official stop on both the Subaru USFS as well as the FWT. Eric “H” Baumm, CBMR On-Mountain Events Director, is thrilled to join forces with MSI for a stop on the tour: "We are so excited to be a part of the U.S. Series and the World Tour. Crested Butte will be a great place to showcase this event and the athletes that make these competitions so unique." The USFS, which is owned and operated by sports marketing and promotions company Mountain Sports International (MSI) and sanctioned by the International Freeskiers Association (IFSA), now boasts a bigger prize purse than ever before at over $100,000 cash.

Continuing to support the USFS is title sponsor Subaru of America. "Subaru has a long history of supporting organizations and events that resonate with our customers, like the 2008 Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series and Freeskiing World Tour competitions," said Tim Mahoney, Senior Vice President and CMO of Subaru of America, Inc. "The expansion of the Freeskiing Series this year is a big compliment to the outstanding job that Mountain Sports International does in producing the tour."
